Its #TunerTuesday here at Firm400 and we are delighted to feature one of our very first product accessory installation tutorials! Our friends at JDM Sport have just released their NEW series of JDM Sport Valve Cover Washer Dress-Up Kits into the automotive aftermarket for Honda enthusiasts. We thought it would be awesome to capture stills of the installation process and share it with tuners who are looking to upgrade and accessorize their engine components with JDM Sport products. This feature can give our readers a better understanding of installing products and taking the necessary safety precautions as we look forward to producing more content for our automotive enthusiasts! The JDM Sport Valve Cover Washers are available for the Honda Civic B-Series, D-Series, & K-Series applications. In this tutorial, we are covering the installation for the Honda Civic B-Series.

Before the initial install, the most important thing is to make sure that your engine is completely cooled down! Considering you are removing the valve cover, spark plug wires, and additional hardware, your safety is very important so make sure you follow directions or seek a professional for assistance.

Necessary tools needed for the install:

Ratchet Set

Allen Key

Pliers

Gloves

Shop Rags

Here are the steps to installing your JDM Sport Honda Civic B-Series Valve Cover Washers:

1) Remove the four outer bolts that surround & hold the valve cover in place.

2) Remove the center bolts from the spark plug wire cover (if applicable)

3) Next, remove the spark plug wire cover & carefully remove and unplug the spark plug wires

4) Now remove the inner bolts that surround the spark plug wires & carefully remove the valve cover.

5) You can now safely unscrew the inner bolts that surrounded the spark plug wires and replace them with the JDM Sport replacement bolts/screws.

6) Repeat Step 5 only replacing the outer bolts/screws that were originally removed in Step 1.

7) Make sure all screws are properly tightened and secured.

SPECIFIED TORQUE:

8 x 1.25 mm

26 N-m (2.6 kg-m, 19 lb-ft)

8) Next, put the valve cover back in place. Make sure your spark plug wires are plugged in and tightly secured.

9) Now here's the fun part! Open the up the package of JDM Sport Honda Civic B-Series Valve Cover Washers which includes the rubber o-rings & screws.

10) Place the rubber o-rings on the outer back rim of each valve cover washer.

11) Get the larger valve cover washers and place them on the outer screws that were replaced from the valve cover. Tighten the washers with the screws that were included in the package.

12) You are almost done! The rest of the washers are to be placed in the center bolts of the valve cover alongside the spark plug wires where you had originally removed in the beginning of this tutorial. Tighten the screws to secure the washers and there you have it!

Your JDM Sport Honda Civic B-Series Valve Cover Washers are now installed! Congratulations!

Carshow & Motorsports Season is here as tuners prepare their builds for show and on the track. JDM Sport and Firm400 sponsored several drifters this season including two new female drifter girls into our JDM Family. One of our girls @StephanieDrifts took some time and made an awesome video on how to install JDM Sport's suspension on her ride. Checkout our sponsored drifter girl @StephanieDrifts as she gives us insight on how to install JDM Sport Coilovers on the front of her Pink Nissan 240sx S13 coupe. We broke it down for you step-by-step (From her video tutorial) on how to replace your front suspension and install JDM Sport Coilovers with Miss @StephanieDrifts:

Installing my front JDMSPORT Coilovers was fun and easy.  I was very impressed on not only how these came packaged but the quality as well.

I began by removing these JDM Sport Neo-Chrome Steel Lugnuts that are so cool!!

Once I removed my wheel, I moved my attention to the brake line.  The brake line is attached to the coilover by a small clip.  I grab my pliers and yank that little guy out!

Afterwards, I removed the two 17mm bolt and nut that connect the knuckle to the coilover as I hold on to the rotor so it doesn’t fall on me.

Once I remove the three 14mm nuts holding the old coilover…

Its out with the OLD and in with the NEW!

I hold on to the coilover with my left hand while I tighten the three 14mm nuts at the top.

Once that’s done, I connect the coilover back to the knuckle, attach the clip holding the brake line, put my wheel back on and Voila! My Front JDM Sport Coilovers are in.  All that was left to do was adjust the height and align my car.

I compared my old coilovers to the JDM Sport and the JDM Sport ones were 8lbs lighter. Also, I was able to run these coilovers at All Star Bash 2015, which is a drifting event here in SoCal, and they felt AWESOME. I am looking forward to running these coilovers for my 2016 competition season!

When did you start getting into cars?
When I was 3 and I would sit on my dads lap in his 80's turbo Z and he would teach me to shift gears and steer the car... In our neighborhood.
How did you get into drifting? Drag racing got boring
What do you like most about drifting? The fact that you are always evolving your techniques.
What was your first car? 1998 Nissan Maxima. 5 speed. Underglow. It was pimp.
What is your dream car? 1970's Porsche 911.

How do you like the car scene here in Southern California?
Honestly I don't like it as much as events on the east coast. I'm glad to be part of the scene in SoCal, but I feel more a sense of community outside of here. Don't get me wrong, I have my car friends and my drift girls here and we are like a little community, but outside of people you already know-it's hard to make friends because everyone is into what they are doing and don't say hi.
What are your future plans? Get the Z32 running for a complete season without issue and drift the shit out of it.
Describe to us what would be your ideal first date: Private track day.
All guys like girls who love cars! What do you look for in a guy? Someone who can let me be me and not be the jealous type.

What advice would you give to aspiring tuner girls?
Stick with it. Whatever it is. If you keep changing your mind on what you want it doesn't give you much credibility. Don't do it for the guys do it for you.
